Northern Plains Beaded & Parfleche Bag With Long Fringe
Crafted from sturdy rawhide, this envelope-style bag features striking painted geometric designs in green, red, and yellow earth pigments, a hallmark of Northern Plains artistry. The hand-stitched beadwork on the flap is executed with fine glass seed beads in a vibrant pattern. Extending from the bottom is a generous 30" length of hide fringe, adding dramatic movement. The bag retains the traditional envelope form, used by nomadic Plains tribes for carrying belongings, food, or ceremonial items.
Overall Dimensions: 13" x 13" (bag), 30" (fringe length).
Condition: Consistent with age and use, with expected wear that contributes to its historical character.
