Arapaho Tobacco Bag, Ca. 1800s
A native tanned hide pipe bag decorated with sinew sewn seed beads along the opening, side seams and base, Ca. 1800s. The base panel consists of white background, blue diamonds with red crosses in navy trim. Beaded rows in alternating colors of yellow and cobalt ascend to tin cone danglers. Four tabs hang from the opening with beaded fringe and tin attachments. Long hide fringe accent bag. Measurements: Base 14", Fringe 14", Provenance: Texas collector, Morning Star Gallery, Santa Fe, NM. The pipe bag is in excellent condition.
