FINE English Brass Barrel Blunderbus, Ca. 1790s

FINE CIRCA 1790 ENGLISH BRASS BARREL BLUNDERBUSS
NSN
30” overall, ” brass barrel 14 1/2", maker marked “LONDON” on top with commercial London proofs on breech. Pointed tail lock is nicely beveled, engraved by maker “WOOD”, beveled serpentine cock, bridled frizzen, and integral curved steel pan. Brass furniture is chaste engraved en suite, elegant pierced sculpted side plate. Full length stock has raised moldings. Provenance: Bob Nittolo, Noted historian of Fort Ticonderoga and Firearms Collector
Condition: very good overall, brass has toned patina, steel is gray, stock is sound with old pinned repair to crack near muzzle. Mechanics are fine, smooth clear bore.
