Navajo Kachina Rug, Ca. 1930s

Navajo Pictorial Yeii weaving depicting a Hopi Kachina image and four orange-headed blackbirds, Ca. 1930s. Down the side borders are bold, stylized interlocking whirling log motifs. The Kachina image has a colorful tableta headdress, a sash over one shoulder and is wearing a colorful Hopi Manta skirt and joclaw necklace with earrings. Woven from all Native long staple Churro cross wools, all handspun and hand-dyed. Measurements: 108"x64"
