San Ildefonso Black Bowl, Dora Tse-Pe AKA Dora Peña (b. 1/17/39), Highly polished black bowl circled by a deeply carved avanyu with large turquoise eye. Sienna fire spot on scalloped lip with truquoise center. Dora Tse-Pe was born and raised at Zia Pueblo. Candelaria Gachupin (her mother) and Rosalie Toribio (her grandmother) taught her "the sacred and spiritual significance of the clay, of Mother Earth, Father Sun, and the life-giving water." Dora has been honored as one of the "Masters" of Indian Market.
