Levon West, whose name was changed from Ivan Dimitri Assadoorian when he enlisted in the service during WWI was born in 1900 in Centerville, North Dakota. He chose his mother's maiden name West. His etchings and watercolors were always signed Levon West, while his color photography was done under Ivan Dimitri.
