San Ildefenso Polychrome Storage Jar

A classic, hand coiled, very large San Ildefenso polychrome storage jar, with bold avian imagery and crisp black-on-cream palette, featuring scalloped bird-wing panels separated by vertical stems, made with traditional Tewa design elements, the body well-balanced and globular with high rounded shoulder tapering to a slightly recessed base, very rare in this condition ~ excellent, unrestored with very minor surface wear from age. 21" tall x 22" diameter, Ca. 1910
