Santee Sioux Quilled Pipe Bag, Ca. 1880s-90s

Constructed in a tappered design on native tanned hide, sinew sewn and porcupine quill decorated. There are red dyed quill wrapped drops with tin cones and feathers, a greasy yellow bar leading to a large hide pannel of porcquine quill in multi-colore floral design. There are quill wrapped hide slats in a red background with blue and natural color crosses. Beneath the slats is fringe. Minor quill loss. 34"L x 7"W, Ca. 1880's-90's
