Classic Mimbres Geometric Bowl, Ca 1000 - 1130 AD
This Classic Mimbres black-on-white bowl, ca. 1000ñ1130 AD, is an exceptional example of Ancestral Puebloan pottery from the Mimbres Valley region of New Mexico. The bowl features a striking and intricate geometric design painted with iron-based mineral pigment on the interior, a hallmark of the Classic Mimbres ceramic tradition. The slightly asymmetrical form is typical of handmade ancient pottery.
7 1/2"L, 9"W, 3 1/2"H
Basically just reglued with minor restoration, which is a common practice for Mimbres pottery recovered from archaeological contexts.
