Group of Two Ehtnographically Used Acoma Polychrome Olla Pots, Ca 1920s
This unique offering features a pair of historic Acoma Pueblo polychrome olla pots, hand-coiled and painted with traditional geometric designs. Dating from the 1920s, these vessels were ethnographically used within the Acoma community, adding significant cultural and historical importance. The designs, executed in black and warm reddish-brown pigments on a white clay slip, show the characteristic fine-line work of Acoma potters from this period. Both pots exhibit wear and patina consistent with their age and use.
