A fine multi-color, hitched horsehair riata measuring 30 feet in length. This exceptional example comes from the personal collection of noted author and historian Ned Martin, and is featured in his book “Horsehair Bridles: A Unique American Folk Art” (page 33), co-authored with Jody Martin. The riata represents the artistry and intricacy of traditional horsehair hitching, a distinctive form of American folk craftsmanship from the Western range.
